In simplistic terms, Bipolar is a mood disorder or psychosis where the person experiences exaggerated mood swings from highs to lows, accompanied by grandiose ideas, inflated sense of self-importance, seeing, hearing and feeling things that aren’t true.

In order to help stomp out the stigma associated with bipolar, Andrea set up a website www.bipolarbabes.com as a mental health advisor and educator and in 2010 set up the Bipolar Disorder Society of BC. In 2015 she was the Courage to Come Back Award winner.
