ANNOUNCEMENTS
$250 to be given to John Jordan for Mission in Rwanda.
 
Carolyn and Donna attended the Polio luncheon fundraiser at the Union Club.
 
Jack MacAulay- Kettles start on Saturday 5th December, and for the next two Saturdays.
 
Roger-Sailpast goes on Sunday 6th, depends on the weather. Judges have the information.
 
Request for funding from Oak bay for Victoria General. To be reviewed by the Directors.
 
Christmas Party on Tuesday 8th at the Jazzaniah Café, arranged by Carolyn Morley.
 
PROGRAM
Dr. Patricia Roy presented a humorous history of highway development in the Province. Some dates of note-Cariboo Road was built through the Fraser Canyon in 1865. 1911-1st Motor Vehicle Act.-maximum speed in the country was 25 mph!  1920-driving was changed to the right hand side, except in Vancouver and the Island, changed in 1922. 1930, very few roads were paved. Second world War, saw the completion of roads between Prince Rupert and Terrace, and the Alaskan Highway. 1962-the Rogers Pass was opened. Dr. Roy was thanked by Maria.
