Gordon Benn introduced Tim Maloney and Colleen Sullivan from Mercy Ships Canada
Announcements:
Sidney Classical Orchestra, February 8, 2015 St Elizabeth’s Catholic Church 10030 Third Street, Sidney Gordon is asking for our help finding deserving people who could not otherwise attend this concert. Forward the names to him.
Dan Rippin receives his third Paul Harris Award and was congratulated by Gordon and the club.
 Gordon welcomed Leta Kenney as the newest member of the club.
Gordon to attend Membership Summit at the Union Club  on the weekend –Main focus , work on membership drive.

Talk by Tim Maloney, on  Mercy Ships mandate and future plans
Tim revisited  our club his first visit was six years ago and talked to the club about mercy ships
Mercy ships is a the Worlds largest Hospital Ship not owned by any government  . It presently has only one ship in its fleet and 1000 days away from having a second ship at a cost of about $95m. Don and Deyon Stephens brought the concept alive and the first ship was put in service in 1982
Tim also explained that the Organization is Christian faith based , visited to date 57 countries 2.5 million lives has been affected
Tim also pointed to the organizations donation working efficiency every dollar received three dollar worth of services is dispensed, also mentioned the numerous types of operations carried out , teaching of basic health care services, and small scale farming techniques.
Tim also made references to the numerous donors whose collectively donations have kept Mercy Ship afloat
