Announcements:
-White Elephant sale:  Brentwood Bay and Royal Oak Clubs  will join us in early November. Suggested that we have  it at the Howard Johnson  Hotel in Royal Oak-  Date to be announced.  
- Jack G attended a district Membership planning meeting  last week got some good ideas.
-District Conference  reminder –May 4-6, 2017 is at Clearwater Casino in Suquamish Washington—Bus will be available  from Coho Terminal in Port Angeles
-Jack G  suggested  having  Katie Coard  come to a meeting  to discuss  website  revamp  for membership recruitment – Cosmo will arrange
Program:  
Speaker--  Murray Weisenberger- Council  member District of North Saanich,  Murray was brought up in Melville Sask., worked as a woodworker/ joiner.  Murray is  a proponent  of growth with minimal impact in North Saanich.  North Saanich is now a member  of SIPP (South Island Prosperity Project)  which costs taxpayers  $17K/annum for membership.  SIPP has  a 5 year strategy  to improve:  Business  Growth, Sector Development, Attracting  Investment, First Nation Economic development , Collaboration and Research.   Murray can see the need for rental accommodation,  low income  housing (less than $400000 to purchase).  There was some  discussion  about densifying  specific areas:  Mctavish loop to the airport lands  and  the Tsehum Harbour area.  A discussion occurred from questions  about Sandown  development.

50/50 draw:  being  accused  of fixing  the results  Roger won the draw but did not pick the marble.
