1. Sidney Street Banners:  Yes Sidney Rotary would like 2 banners.  Tara to contact Donna Petrie by Jan 29th to make arrangements.

2. Sidney by the Sea Rotary Raffle count night Feb 22, need 10 enthusiastic volunteers.  Donna to contact everyone.

 

Steve gave an informed, interesting Power Point presentation of Sidney!

 

First, the positive impact our Sidney Rotary has made with all the various projects we have supported in and around Sidney: including the wonderful baseball park in North Saanich, the famous Beacon clock, the Heart Smart walkway, the defibrillator for Mary Winspear center, the Canada Day celebrations and the beloved Christmas sail past!  Thank-you so much!

 

Sidney won the coveted "Open for Business Award", of which there are only 5 awarded for the province!  It's all about bringing vibrancy back - resilient economy, balanced demographic, and establishing a quality environment.

 

Sidney has a brand new interactive website! Check it out.

 

New plans for housing, business development, the fire hall, a modern skateboard park, Ocean Spray Park, the Beacon Wharf redevelopment and Reay Creek cleanup, are some of the projects that are ongoing.  They are also working on ways for finding signage, street furniture and planters, as well as a master plan for Sidney infrastructure.

 

Ian presented Steve with the 10 polio vaccinations certificate in Steve's name in appreciation.

 

Maria focused on collecting HAPPY DOLLARS tonight. 

 

Barry drew a white marble....better luck next week.
