WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dan discussed his presentation at Stelly’s Secondary.  He gave students information on volunteering, and Rotary’s role in the community and the world.
 
Jack McAuley – on Sunday June 5, 9:45 am @ Kittyhawk air hanger on West airport lands, Jack will be representing the club and will present the Marksmanship trophy for the Cadets. This is also a presentation time for the cadets and Rotarians are welcome to join Jack- please advise him.
 
Jack Parry advised that there will a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony  of the new washroom at Heritage Acres train station partially funded by the club in 2015 and he will advise us  when that will be in the next  month for a group photo op and publicity opportunity.
 
RYLA:  A new program will be introduced for Duncan, BC so that local candidates will no longer be required to travel to the US.

Literacy:  Our representative will be required to attend monthly meetings here in Victoria.

Public Relations:  Again, our representative will be required to contact the Victoria area committee on a monthly basis.
 
BUSINESS MEETING:   
Treasurer presented the financial statements for Community and Club funds.  Some of the Vocational services projects were under budget, so there is more left for other projects. –6K
 
Club funds- excess funds are close to being spent for year end and Treasurer will make a recommendation to the club executive to transfer some funds from Community Gaming funds-10% for the administration costs of the club.
 
Haliburton Farms are still fundraising for their cooler roof, and are also constructing a disabled washroom on the side of the building. Motion proposed by Roger to fund the Cooler roof for $500, seconded by Jack M. Motion carried.   Cosmo would also like club members to attend the site for a plaque dedication in the next month.
 
Discussed the proposal for 2 Bus shelter/ bike lockers on West Saanich Road.  District 5020 community grant has been applied for ($3500). We are awaiting meeting with the new North Saanich infrastructure administrator, (Municipal engineer) and an email proposal has been submitted to him.  There was a discussion about soliciting neighborhood written support or approaching local politicians to get project going--- the project will consequently happen in Jack Gallop’s presidency.
 
Jack J. advised that he has had success in the his old club with applying for Gaming Commission funds ($30,000 per annum), suggested that we could discuss with the Grant writer at the Royal Oak Club.  
 
Wed - June 29 Claremont Dry grad games at UVic SUB were briefly discussed.  4- Games to be set up @ 9 pm – Kerthump, Cork Gun, Pin Ball, Funball.   Cosmo and Roger will provide the transportation and possibly Jack M, and Jack G.  Operators Roger, Leta, Cosmo, Ian, Carolyn will be required from 11:30 – 3:00, then dismantle.  Have requested and it was agreed that $1,300 will be the fee. Dry grad committee provides all prizes.
 
Friday July 1 games at Iroquois Park, same 4 games, except using fish tank for Cork gun. Roger will be requesting volunteers next week.  Normal Setup at 10 am, Games open 12:30 to 4:00 pm at Iroquois Park-- after Parade.
 
SERGEANT AT ARMS:  Dan fined Cosmo for starting meeting late, Jack P for stealing cutlery, Tara for her photo in the PNR, Carolyn for chatting.
 
HAPPY DOLLARS:  Jack P for best steak  ever at Glen Meadows, Jack M, Leta for being at meeting , John L for not being fined.
 
50/50 DRAW:  Jack Parry won the winning ticket with a 1:7 chance but alas, it is now a 1:6 chance as Jack did not pick the lucky marble.
