Engaging the Next Generation in Rotary
Rotary worldwide is challenged for new members.
The new generation of “millennials” could be the solution.
Consider Millennials are:
Globally minded, their world is small and instant!
* need a vehicle to make a huge impact
* are socially engaged, involved in their community
*ambitious, in a rush with a sense of urgency
* seek networking and mentoring opportunities
*want unique and powerful ways to connect

If they’re so ideally placed why aren’t they joining?
*they don’t know who we are, how do we change that?
*they don’t know that they are welcome, who have you invited?
*do they have the time? Demands on their time are enormous.

Answer why should you make Rotary a priority?
The Challenges
  1. Can be unreliable...careers, social life and don’t know what they’ll be doing next week
Their world is a mosaic of rapid change, no linear plan
  1. Resilience... Older generations think life is supposed to be hard and build character
Millennial think life is fair, fun and fast!
  1. High maintenance: need to be validated,
Complimented, thanked, congratulated and confirmed daily.
They’ll give 100% and need to be praised.

SERGEANT AT ARMS: Cosmo asked for happy and sad Dollars and several members gave a happy dollar, Jack McAuley gave sad Dollar for a car accident he was involved in.

50/50 Draw:  Jack Gallop drew a white marble
