Our club is planning a project to install bike racks in some locations in the community.  We have been approached about installing one in the North Saanich bike park.  Barry expressed concerns about ensuring that the club has control of any physical installation - reminding us of how the club was charged union rates for an installation done in Sidney.

PROGRAM – BUSINESS MEETING
Maureen Alexander - founder of the Barberton Historical Society and president of the Mill Bay/Malahat Historical Society - introduced a documentary entitled “One Man’s Dream” on the initial construction of the Malahat highway.  We then viewed the documentary which was very informative and entertaining.  Several members made contributions to the historical society and picked up copies of the DVD and also a book entitled “Bamberton - From Dust to Bust and Back” which was written by Maureen and Andrew Brown.
Maureen is interested in continuing to give her presentation to other organizations and can be reached at 250-743-9196 or dalexander2@shaw.ca .

SERGEANT AT ARMS
Carolyn got a few dollars in the (phantom) pig by fining those who did NOT attend the Fall Fair BBQ, gave incorrect information to potential attendees about the location, from Barry for NOT buying Ian a drink as committed, and from Dan for the continued absence of the physical pig.

Happy & Sad Dollars:
Several members contributed for the quality of tonight’s program.  Carolyn and Ian contributed for the recent wedding of their daughter, and Carolyn contributed for her birthday last week.  Sad Dollars: None

Marble Draw:
Linda won the draw but pulled a white marble.  More money for next week.

NEXT MEETING, SEPTEMBER 30th AT 6:30:

Door Duty – Linda

Next Week’s Program:
Our speaker next week will be Alix Hotsenpiller, from the Rock Solid Foundation.  This organization offers an anti-bullying program to local schools.  Their presentation will support their request for funds from our Club to provide this program to minimally one school.

Meeting adjourned.
