As the Sidney Club's contribution to Earth Day, five of our members joined several people from the Friends of North Saanich Parks to attack and remove blackberry canes, daphne plants and holly and ivy sprigs from a rugged area of Denham Till Park in North Saanich.The weather cooperated and we didn't get wet, although most of us are now sporting souvenirs from uncooperative blackberry prickles. We did make a significant dent in the invasive species squeezing out native plants in this great natural setting.
