WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS
BC YOUTH PARLIAMENT – Seeking assistance from Rotary Clubs to help sponsor “Camp Phoenix” - a camp for 8 to 12 year old’s.  Cosmo has the contact information.
ROTARY VIDEO – A video production is in the works that will serve as a PR presentation for Rotary.  The total cost is $250.  We agreed that we should pay for part of it, and hopefully get a copy.
ADVENTURES IN CITIZENSHIP – Next Wednesday at noon, Dan and Leta will be interviewing four students that are interested in this Rotary opportunity.

BUSINESS MEETING:
  1. SPEAKER’S BUREAU:  Dan Mercer is trying to get a Speaker’s Bureau set up for local Clubs to share speakers recommended by each Club.  This will provide a list of possible speakers for Clubs to choose from, making the job of scheduling speakers much easier.  At the meeting tonight, three speakers we have had over the year to date, were recommended.
  2. SPEAKER SUGGESTIONS:  Please contact Donna if you have any ideas for Speakers to invite for our weekly program.
  3. EXECUTIVE FOR NEXT YEAR: Jack will be recruiting people to fill Director positions for upcoming year.  To date the positions of Secretary, Foundation Director, Public Relations, International Director and Community Director are filled.  Please see Jack if you are interested in the other positions.
  4. THURSDAY NIGHT MEETINGS:  It was agreed that the Club will continue to have meetings on Thursday nights for the foreseeable future.  It is too confusing and costly to switch nights, as it entails changing our website and printed materials.
  5. DRY GRAD ON JUNE 24TH:  Carolyn and Jack P will be going to UVIC tomorrow to determine whether it is feasible to set up our games at this site.
  6. GAMES:  It was agreed that we are not in a position to give up this fundraiser without something else in place.  In the meantime, it will be important to develop a strategy for loading and unloading games, as this is too difficult a task for current members.
  7. ONLINE BANKING SET UP:  Cosmo and Roger have set up online banking, making it possible through the four cards they obtained, to view our Club account.  Deposits and withdrawals will remain solely in the hands of members with signing authority.

SERGEANT AT ARMS:  Next week

50/50 DRAW
Jack P was the winner, but didn’t draw the lucky marble....better luck next week.

NEXT MEETING:  February 18th – Scholarship event.
Greeter and Note taker:  Barry
Door Duty:  Maria
Sergeant at Arms:  Jack P

Meeting adjourned.
